Royal Birthday Party Theme
Birthday Princesses should be celebratedthrow a party fit for royalty.
Every girl wants to be a princess, especially on her birthday. Check out this party idea for throwing an unforgettable royal birthday bash!
Menu
Princesses and tea parties go together, so think dainty for your refreshments. Start with cucumber or butter and honey sandwiches cut into elegant shapes. Whip up a scone mix from the grocery stores international aisle. Top cupcakes with colorful, jewel-like hard candy or purchase petit fours. Set up a chocolate fountain and let the guests dip strawberries. Serve hot tea with plenty of milk and sugar, or pour lemonade into crystal goblets.
Dcor
A few yards of inexpensive fabric will make a red carpet for the princess and her royal guests to parade down. Enlist some helpers to give them a paparazzi ambush!
Decorate the room with swaths of white or pink gauze strung with twinkling lights and silver streamers. Hang the flags of great Britain and other countries famous for their princesses, such as Monaco.
Use china for the table settings, or buy disposable crystal plastic dishes and silver plastic utensils. Use cloth napkins or large disposable ones that you can fold into cornucopias to hold a fresh rose and a name card for each guest.
Activities
Invite a princess expert to the party to teach the princess and her guests the royal way to curtsey, wave, walk, and hold their tea cups.
Purchase inexpensive wooden or sturdy cardboard boxes and acrylic jewels at the craft store. Have each girl decorate a treasure chest to hold her party favors.
Favors
Give each girl a bag full of favors such as plastic jewelry, a tiara, and a feather boa. Distribute these at the beginning of the party so that the girls can have fun wearing them during the celebration.
At the end of the party, give each girl a copy of a photo-shopped cover of a British tabloid, such as The Sun or The Daily Mirror, that displays a picture of them taken during the earlier photo ambush.
