Capture a Teenage Girl Party
The birthday girl is sound asleep on her birthday, when a group of teenagers wake her up and whisk her away to a birthday breakfast. This makes a unique birthday party, but partner this with a surprise party with a large group of friends, and this birthday will truly be memorable.
INVITATIONS
This surprise party works best when a mom throws this for her teenage daughter. It requires the birthday persons friend and her friends mother to be involved. Tell only 5 to 6 of your daughters friends. Swear them to secrecy. Invitations should not be written. Everyone talks about it in secret over the phone or in person.
DRESS CODE
Pajama party — all girls wear their pajamas.
GAMES AND ACTIVITIES–Part 1
Early on the day of your daughters birthday, the Capture Party,( friends dressed in pajamas), wake up their friend, the birthday girl. They blindfold her and get her to her best friends home where they enjoy a birthday breakfast.
After breakfast, all the girls change into regular clothes and fix their hair and makeup. The birthday girls best friend and mom have secretly prepared a bag with clothes. Optionally, you could take all the girls to a make up counter at a department store. Just keep the birthday person out of the house for 3 hours.
PARTY FOOD
Breakfast food, especially the birthday girls favorites should be served. Some suggestions are waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, or fancy omelets.
BIRTHDAY CAKE
Serve a breakfast muffin with some frosting and a candle for the birthday girl. Sing Happy Birthday and assure the birthday girl that the whole day will be fun.
BIRTHDAY GIFTS
No birthday gifts are given at the Birthday Breakfast.
GAMES AND ACTIVITIES–Part 2
After the Birthday Breakfast, all girls drive the birthday girl home where her parents are hosting a big birthday surprise party. All her friends are there and they will celebrate with games and activities that are age appropriate. Here, there is birthday cake and presents.
Its best to have the capture start at 9am. This is early for most teenagers. Keep the birthday person away until lunchtime. Invite the big group for lunch and surprise party. This gives the parents time to put up crepe paper, balloons, banners, etc.
Even if she has a large group of friends, surprise parties are so much fun for everyone that they will keep it quiet. The hardest test will be keeping the birthday girls siblings from spilling the beans.
PARTY FOOD
Your daughter may not be ready for a boy-girl party. If this is the case, a group of girls will want a relatively light luncheon. Consider chicken salad in a pineapple boat, with veggie chips and strawberry lemonade.
If boy-girl party, serve more hearty food like Mexican lasagna with a green salad and sparkling punch.

Birthday.com has some good recipes or you can get a bakery cake decorated with your childs photo. The photo is printed on a special paper and sugar sheet combination. The paper is peeled off and the sugar layer is added to the top of the cake. It is very special.
